A Brief History of Virtual Reality, Starring the Forte VFX1 Head Mounted Display December 13, 2012 | Posted by Ben Lang | Posted in News, Virtual Reality | 1 comment I just stumbled across this excellent video showing a brief history of virtual reality. The video is from the YouTube channel Silicon Classics. It focuses mainly on theĀ Forte VFX1 head mounted display but also gives a great overview of many other products surrounding its release. Real modern footage of the Forte VFX1 in action shows just how far we’ve come since the 1990s virtual reality bubble. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= Share this: Facebook Twitter Google +1 Reddit Pinterest StumbleUpon Email Tagged: forte, forte vfx1, head mounted display, history of virtual reality, history of vr, hmd, video

Very interesting video, to see some history in the field, but it also makes me wonder how successful the Rift will be. Lets hope it will be easy enough to set up and cheap enough for the user base to grow large. Also, we sure are blessed with extreme amounts of processing capability nowadays, compared to just 15 years ago.
