Rebellion have released a new trailer and a set of new screens for their forthcoming reboot of the classic 1980 Atari arcade shooter Battlezone, and here they are.

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen anything new from Rebellion on their made-for-VR hover tank shooter Battlezone. Here now is a brand new trailer which Rebellion claims demonstrates progress and improvements since the last time you clapped eyes on it.

The trailer showcases “many changes and improvements we’ve made to Battlezone since we announced it at last year’s E3″ and for those eagle-eyed comic geeks out there, there’s a 2000 AD trivia featured in the trailer.

To go along with the trailer, here are 4 new screenshots, which highlight the colourful, neon gameworld and reminds us what we liked so much about the game when we played it at E3 last year.

Battlezone is to arrive for PlayStation VR first later this year with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive versions to follow after.

His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift.
