EVE Fanfest 2015 concludes today, and it’s going out with a competitive bang. EVE: Valkyrie is built from the ground up for VR and of course multiplayer, and so CCP have organised a live streamed tournament full of space dogfighting carnage. Watch it live here.

EVE: Valkyrie and CCP’s new focus on virtual reality are two big takeaways from this year’s EVE Fanfest. With a brand new Valkyrie build running on Oculus’ latest prototype Crescent Bay, and the unveiling of the company’s VR Labs, it’s clear that CCP sees a big future in VR Gaming.

It’s fitting then that the final day of EVE Fanfest should feature a full multi-player EVE: Valkyrie tournament, with participants all donning Oculus Rift DK2s and battling each-other for both supremacy and a handful of prize DK2s.

The event starts at 2pm GMT (my local time)

Disclosure: CCP Games is covering travel and lodging expenses for one Road to VR writer to attend Fanfest 2015.

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.
