HTC mentioned during their HTC Vive reveal yesterday that the new headset would be accompanied by new controllers, designed for VR. It seems that Scott Broock, VP of Content at Jaunt just got his hands on them, and was impressed.

Steam VR is being demo’d behind closed doors in San Francisco on the first day of GDC 2015 and, despite a clear embargo being in place preventing any real details being shared, it seems the new platform is wowing delegates at the show.

VP of Content at Jaunt, a company specialising in 360 VR Video content production, just tweeted his first short impressions on the controller system Valve is showing off.

Before adding:

Along with the HTC Vive’s tracking system, almost nothing concrete is known the new controllers, and unlike the headset – no images have yet been made available.

The Road to VR team will be chasing down information on the new Steam VR platform on site at GDC 2015 in San Francisco.

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.
