Land’s End, the much lauded Gear VR adventure game from Ustwo Games for its stunning scenery, is no longer available on Note 4-compatible Gear VR headsets.

The game, which went on sale Tuesday for all Samsung Gear VR headsets for $7.99, is now no longer accessible on the Galaxy Note 4, the phone compatible with the first Gear VR Innovator Edition headset. At least one user has reported that the game actually vanished from their Note 4 after having installed and and played without noticeable issues, followed by an email from support:

Hello Valued Oculus Member,

Our records show that you purchased Land’s End in the Oculus Store for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 mobile device for use with the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition. This title is not currently compatible with the Note 4 and has been removed from the Oculus Store.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we’ve already processed full refunds for all impacted customers as of 5pm PDT on November 10th, 2015. Please allow 3-5 days from that time for your credit card provider to reflect the credit to your account. There’s no action needed on your end, but please let us know if you have any questions.

In the studio’s customer support page they now say the game is “currently only available on Samsung Galaxy S6, with Gear VR. We are working on a version for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which will be released soon. We’re looking into other ways we can bring the Land’s Endexperience to more platforms in the future.”

The Note 4-compatible Gear VR was the first of the ‘Innovator Edition’ units, and was released to the public back in December of 2014 with the caveat that it would be specifically targeted towards developers and early adopters. The news that some devs are no longer prioritizing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and Samsung-built Exynos 7 Octa 5433 chipsets in the respective versions of the Note 4 may signal a defacto ‘phase out’ of the device for future releases.

To anyone that has downloaded this on their Note 4, it is still playable. Go into your files and click on the program. It will then prompt you to play this, insert your phone into your Gear VR. Do so and the game starts up – fully playable and I found no bugs or glitches so far. Best game to date and is the future of gaming imo!
Edit: It showed up on the Oculus Store yesterday (30/11/15) and I managed to buy it. Unfortunately, a refund was given today, stating that this game isn’t currently officially available for the Note 4. The above still applies ofc.
