The push to 360 video for marketing experiences continues as Bank of America and Visa collaborate with US football team the New England Patriots to deliver a Google Cardboard 360 video experience which aims to give you a glimpse at the team in action.

As Google’s low cost virtual reality initiative Cardboard has gained more and more attention outside of the hardcore VR enthusiast community, marketing departments across the globe seem to be waking up to the potential promise of immersive experiences for consumers.

The latest comes from a collaboration between Bank of America and Visa with American Football (forgive me, I’m British) team the New England Patriots to shoot 360 degree footage in and around the Gillette Stadium, of the team in action. Stand on the field as the Patriots go at it on the practice field. It’s called ‘Travel Inside the Game”.

Further, there will be limited edition Google Cardboard viewers, another popular trend, made available to fans visiting today’s Pre-Game (located in Gillette Stadium Parking Lot 4A) and Gillette Stadium’s concourse (outside of Section 102 and 103) any time after kickoff. Keep your eyes open for a ‘Visa Brand Ambassador’ whilst there to get your hands on the special cardboard viewers.

As ever, the experience can be viewed on any Android or IOS phone compatible with Google Cardboard and an appropriate cardboard viewer. You can find out more on the experience here.

His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.
