Lunar Flight from Shovsoft, is one of those OG’s of virtual reality gaming, and a damned fine one too. We’ve not heard too much from the developer recently, but the game work on the game does continue. These new shots of the newly remodeled WIP cockpit have us itching to get back to the game.

The new shots elevate the already realistic feel of the title yet further, with some serious levels of attention to detail on display. Lunar Flight has been one of our favourite VR titles since it first appeared for the Oculus Rift DK1 back in 2013. Developer of Lunar Flight, Shaun Edwards, stated that the new cockpits should be in place along with a new moon to explore as part of a planned DLC package, to be released to coincide with the consumer Oculus Rift – currently slated for Q1 2016.

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.

Wow! This is looking so good. Can’t wait to play the updated version. Lunar Flight was one of the first VR games that I would spend hours at a time playing.
