The annual PAX Prime gaming festival starts today in Seattle and VR will be one of the highlights of the show for many gamers. The major players are out in force, and we’ve got a quick guide to where you can find them to check out the latest virtual reality experiences.

HTC Vive & SteamVR

htc-vive-steamvr-featuredValve’s Chet Faliszek has put together a handy roundup over on the SteamVR blog detailing where you can find various Vive stations this weekend. In short:

At 8th and Pine there will be one of the World Tour trucks showing 20 minute demo loops… This truck is available to everyone, not just PAX attendees, from 10am to 8pm daily. Slots for the day will be scheduled in the morning starting at 10 am.

We have a private room at the Sheraton with multiple demo stations… We are in the Ravenna room which is back in a quiet corner on the 3rd floor. Slots for the day will be assigned in the morning at the room starting at 9am. That means, similar to the truck, visit in the morning, get a slot for later in the day and come back then to check out the demos. These rooms will be showing demos from 10am until 10pm. A PAX badge is required.

Cloudhead games will be showing off a new version of The Gallery: Call of the Starseed… You can find Cloudhead in the Portland Room at the Grand Hyatt lower level across from the convention center during show hours.

NVIDIA will be showing demos all through PAX at their booth… This also includes a special Tilt Brush event on Friday and Saturday from 2-4pm.

You can find the aforementioned NVIDIA booth in the WSCC, level 4, booth #252.

Oculus Rift & Gear VR

oculus rift high res consumer edition (9)

Oculus will be out in force with two booths dedicated to the company on the show floor. You can book demo slots through the official Oculus Live app on Android or iOS. Slots are all booked up as of now, but keep checking back, Oculus occasionally releases more time slots during events. They may also have a walk-up line.

You can find the Oculus booths right next to each other in the WSCC, level 4, booth #3625 and #3630.

Oculus will be showing the Rift CV1. Oculus Touch isn’t being shown to the public at the show, but a few lucky folks may be able to score a private Touch demo by following @Oculus on twitter (while you’re at it, follow @RtoVR for more useful articles like this one!). The booth will likely also have walk up demos for Samsung’s Gear VR.

Sony Morpheus

sony-gdc-2015-project-morpheus-prototypeSony has a big presence at PAX 2015, carving out their own corner of the show floor with four booths. The booth will host Morpheus VR demos running on the PS4. It isn’t clear if Sony will have advanced demo time reservations available or if they’ll do walk-ups only. In shows past, they’ve handed out timed tickets for the demo slots, so our advice is to get to the booth as early as possible and try to nab one.

You’ll find Sony in the WSCC, level 4, booths #112, #122, #212, and #222

Eagerly awaiting some new videos of ‘The Gallery’, thinking this is going to be a massive achievement for the guys at Cloudhead. If you get to scope it out at the Hyatt would love to see even some playtest video if they’d allow it :)
