Order Status: Ready – Your order is ready! We’ll notify you as soon as it’s shipped.
can’t order mine these days =\ … don’t have the money right now :P
but I can’t wait to see people posting the impressions and videos about the Rift.
You’re in the right place .. you’ll be sick of it by the time we’e stopped banging on about it. :)
Order number 8103? 8. 1. 0. 3?!
I’m gonna be waiting a while, methinks!
That said, my current address is in China so maybe they can just sling one out of the factory and into my apartment? ;)

I’m order 500 something and have the same ‘ready’ status as above. I asked and got an answer from Oculus that the T-Shirt would not hold up shipment of the order. I selected the Steam option today since Doom 3 fell through. It looks like TF2 will support it soon enough though, and that is a better option for me anyway. Fingers crossed for a March delivery!
Damn you Brady I’m 20xx! :) Still hopeful I’ll make it in to the first batch though.
Hey guys, just joined up to say hello and to chime in like the kid waiting for Christmas.
C# developer and LOB consultant by trade and finally feel like my childhood VR dreams are coming to pass and time to get indie developing.
Order 350(ish) of the Oculus, Razer Hydra in hands and Unity open on the desktop..
Hi Kevin, good to have you here. Also, I hate you too with your Sub 400 order ID. :)
Starting to ship on the 29th give or take a few days. 1000-1500 units a week. With my 8103 order number I might get mine in late May.
Gotta say, at that point I’m not really much in the vanguard of developers. Almost tempted to just wait for the commercial release – I did have plans to do something with the Rift, but with the constantly shifting goalposts and disappointments it’s pretty difficult to plan. Probably going to just sack it off now, which is a shame.
Still – you low order-number heroes are in for a treat I’m sure. :)
I’m not sure I follow completely @mattso, I realise the original delay from Dec -> March was a big shift in expectations, but a couple of weeks additional on top of the ship date isn’t really in the same league. Besides, they do say there’s be a ‘ramp up’ in shipping during the process.
Sacking all of it off on that basis seems somewhat harsh to me. Although, I’ll take your spare Rift should you not want it any more. :P
Oh, sorry – I realise that reads badly. I mean sack off my plans to develop something for the Rift, rather than just play with what everyone else makes. There’s a Hackathon coming up at my workplace in a few weeks and I had a little group of people really fired up to make something for the Rift in 48hrs. The delivery schedule sorta pours water on that.
Still gutted that I’m looking at May/June though. That’s a half year delay at that point for me. :(
Let’s see, I have a feeling they’re in expectation management mode, I reckon you’ll see it much earlier than that. Another Hackathon in May then perhaps? If you do it, keep us in the loop, sounds like something we’d love to cover. :)
I was – very – dissapointed to learn about the delayed shipping (I’m one of the first pre-orders), it will take months till I get mine. On the other hand, it does give me a bit of breathing room with the development of vrappstore. As I’m not the only one who will receive their Rift a bit later the apps will come later too. Still dissapointed, a bit less but still.
I bet Oculus could get some volunteers to pack and stamp those boxes!
Palmer, Y U NOT have dropship? :P
On the other hand, going from prototype to shippable product – even a dev version – is a huge undertaking. Even with the delays I have nothing but respect for Palmer and the other guys at Oculus.
So has anybody received their Oculus Rift yet?
Mine says “Order Status: Ready.” I ordered it relatively late (in November).
