Polydome from developer Plan8, is a VR music experience that encourages you to “create endless musical combinations and permutations by connecting sequences of floating gems”, and it’s just arrived for free via Oculus Share’s ‘Concepts’ category.

Part of last year’s Oculus’ Mobile VR Jam, where it featured as a finalist, Polydome is a meditative, musical experience which allows you to create your own compositions by navigating it’s geometrical virtual world.

The title is now available for Gear VR in a brand new, more polished form, on the Oculus Store as part of the company’s ‘Concepts’ program. The new version comes with new features and ‘soundpacks’ and is available for free now.

Plan8 are based in Stockholm but work globally and have been engaged in productions for Google, Apple, Daimler AG, Starbucks, Lexus, IBM, Under Armour to name a few. In 2012 they were awarded an Emmy for the interactive documentary Clouds over Cuba.

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.
