5. Negotiator

Negotiator is a concept that I started developing two months ago for a competition, it is based around a cinematic narrative, inspired by stylish 90s action/crime films and documentaries. It puts the player through a series of scenes that take place from the early 80s to present day, telling a story of the main protagonist’s career as a negotiator for hire, set against a backdrop of evolving technology and complex geo-political situations. Each scene is unique and can be solved in several different ways, while swapping between different members of the team (ie Negotiator, Sniper, Assault Team). There will be a narrative section in-between each scene that reflects what happened and moves the story forward.

1. The Visitor

The Visitor is a horror experience about an unexpected visitor calling to your door in the middle of the night. The game relies heavily on atmosphere, utilizing a dark environment to make the player both as nervous and uncomfortable as possible. The Visitor does not require any controls, visual cues such as flickering lights inform the player of where to direct their gaze, so simply put on the Rift and enjoy.

Ideal for scaring friends and family. It takes about 10 minutes to complete. No controls required :)

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.
