Google Glass currently costs a cool $1500. And while Google built the unit to be water resistant, so that the wearer wouldn’t have to worry about the rain, one man took things to the next step… the shower.
Yes, Google Glass survives a wet shower
You thought I was kidding when I said I would never take them off.
Yes, they survive being wet. I had them full on soaked in my shower this morning. Google Glass still works.
So, they will be usable out in rain or other weather. Feel safe #GlassExplorers !
While I haven’t found any official claim of Google Glass being water-proof or water-resistant, one hint came back in February when we spotted a Google Glass photo with some water droplets on the unit and wondered what it might mean:
One picture we dug up shows someone using Google Glass covered in water droplets… will the unit be water resistant?
It’s unlikely that the company will recommend that anyone take Google Glass in the shower, but it would seem that they’ve smartly designed it to handle that situation just in case. Well done I say!
