    Categories: DealDealsNewsVR Deals

If you’re already an Amazon Prime Member, or looking to become one starting today, there’s an Amazon Prime Day Oculus Rift deal waiting for you.

Update (July 17th, 1:20AM ET): After being listed as ‘out of stock’ earlier today, the Rift appears to back in stock and ready to ship.

Update (July 16th, 3:53PM ET): It appears Amazon USA is already out of stock. We’ll be keeping an eye on stock as the event progresses, and updating this piece should they get a new shipment. We’ve changed the headline from the previous ‘Amazon Prime Day: Oculus Rift + Touch Bundle is Currently $50 Off’ to reflect this change.

Original Article (July 16th, 3:45 PM ET): Regularly costing $400, the Oculus Rift + Touch bundle is on sale for $50 off for the duration of Prime Day [Amazon], which lasts until July 17th at 11:59 PM PT (local time here).

Oculus Touch is the system’s dedicated motion controller. In the box you’ll get two Touch controllers, an Oculus Rift headset, two sensors (for tracking), and all the necessary cabling. Advisory: you’ll definitely need a VR-ready computer to run it. Check here to see if your computer is ready.

Amazon UK and major Eurozone regional branches such as Amazon France and Amazon Germany are seeing the sale too, knocking the headset down by £50/€50 to the Prime Day sale price of £350/€400.

Considering Amazon Prime costs $120 for an annual subscription (or $13 monthly) in the US, which gives you access to free, fast shipping—and of course discounts on all of the products listed for Amazon’s annual Prime Day event—the $50 savings essentially gets you five months of Amazon Prime for free.

Or you can think of it this way: now you have $50 more to spend on games. Because Oculus Rift has the ability to play games on both the company’s own digital marketplace, the Oculus Store, and Steam, you’ll find plenty of games in our Review section that are supported. You might also check out Road to VR’s 2017 Game of the Year Awards for some good ideas.

Another great place to start though is invariably the Rift’s compliment of free games that come along with purchase of the bundle and subsequent activation of Touch, which include: Lucky’s TaleMediumToyboxQuillDead and Buried, and Robo Recall.

There’s plenty more free Rift titles than that though to keep you chugging along. Some definite free highlights to investigate are social VR game Rec Room, private and social cinema Big Screen, Google Earth VR and the visually impressively Coco VR to name a few. Check out all free Rift games on the Oculus Store here.
