Gameplay Video: Watch Us Play ‘Rigs’ on Project Morpheus

We got the chance to go hands-on with the first VR title from Guerilla Games Cambridge, Rigs: Mechanized Combat League. This gameplay video covers a full 3v3 match in Sony’s special press-only area housing 6 demo pods, players in all took part in the match.

I had a great time with Rigs and despite my short time with the game, that statement is important. Whilst it was undoubtedly technically impressive, the game’s polished visuals were matched by weighty, depth-filled FPS gameplay in a multiplayer setting that worked really well.

Apologies for the poor quality of the video, filming conditions were far from ideal. However, despite the video not doing the game’s accomplished visuals justice, it does give you a good impression of that vertical gameplay and a feel for the speed and intensity of gameplay.

Road to VR are in LA covering E3 all week. Stay tuned for all the VR news from the show.

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.
