Hulu’s VR Comedy ‘Door No. 1’ Launches Today, Catch the Trailer Here

Hulu’s new VR comedy Door No. 1 launches today on the Hulu VR app. Written and directed by Nora Kirkpatrick (The Office, Greeks) and produced by AOL’s immersive film studio RYOT, the single-episode VR comedy will be available on Oculus Go, Samsung Gear VR, PSVR, Google Daydream and Oculus Rift.

Presented in 360 degrees, Door No. 1 strings together live-action sequences in a sort of ‘choose your own adventure’ format, giving the user multiple ways to experience the story and different decisions to make throughout.

According to Hulu’s description of the show, Door No. 1 puts you in the shoes of Alex, the silent protagonist of the experience. Set in a 10 year high school reunion, you’ll “be able to get high with the janitor, dance until they drag you off the floor, and seize one last chance to prove yourself.” Smoking weed with the janitor, played by Snoop Dog, sounds like a definite highlight.

The show’s cast has a number of other familiar faces too including Steve Little (Eastbound and Down), Ravi Patel (Wrecked, Meet The Patels), Kyle Bornheimer (Casual), Missi Pyle (Another Period), Mircea Monroe (Episodes), Sarah Baker (Big Little Lies), Johnny Pemberton (Superstore), John Gemberling (Broad City), Lucas Neff (Raising Hope), Sheaun McKinney (Vice Principals) and  Barry Rothbart (The Wolf of Wall Street).

The show is likely to only be available in countries where Hulu maintains its service, which includes the U.S. (including Puerto Rico) and U.S. military bases. Check out Hulu’s VR site to learn how to download and watch.
