Beginning on November 24th, HTC will give $100 off purchases of the Vive system, while stocks last. Software deals during the Black Friday weekend will also be available through HTC’s own VR app store, Viveport.

The first consumer VR-infused holiday season is almost upon us, and no doubt VR headsets will be extremely hot gift items. It’s the most wonderful time of the year (so they say), and HTC is giving a modest but notable $100 (12.5%) discount on the Vive, as is now the tradition on Black Friday. That means you’ll be able to nab the Vive for $700 instead of the usual $800. Looking for a Rift deal? See here.

When the time comes, you should find the deail online or at retail, including Microsoft Stores, Amazon.com, Gamestop, Newegg.com, Micro-center, Vive.com and for the first time, 34 Fry’s locations across the U.S.

Nice deal, hopefully more people now will choose to buy one with this discount.
To bad for the ones not in the US not having the discount.
    +1 HTC

    • Félix

I was going to ask : this discount is US-only ?

  • RipVoid

Perhaps this means gen2 is on the horizon.

    • Mike

      Exactly what I was thinking.

    • Andrew Jakobs

Nah, it’s normal to sell it for less around these days..
But I do think they won’t announce a new one long before it’s release, at it would collapse the sale of the current set.

So, it’s Nov 24th. No discount prices shown. Did you mean Beginning Nov 25th?
