Southern California’s very own VR conference and expo (SoCal VR) is bringing together devs, content creators, and VR enthusiasts of all stripes to take part in a celebration of all things virtual on the 12th of July.

Supported by a number of VR-centric associations from all over Southern California, the SoCal VR Conference and Expo will be hosting a day of demos, panels, and giveaways—all so that VR content creators, devs, film makers, journalists, audio professionals, and artists can get in on the action.

SoCal VR Conference and Expo will be held July 12, from 1pm-7pm (PDT) at the Institute for Innovation, University of California Irvine.

Among the VIP talk presenters is filmmaker David Knight, creator of The EndeaVR Project, a project to film, photograph and LIDAR-scan the entire Space Shuttle Endeavour for VR viewing. Jonnie Ross, founder of the Proto Awards, co-founder of VRLA, and creator of Visionary VR, will be presenting a VIP panel entitled ‘Bringing VR to the Mainstream’.

Comedian and prolific podcaster Duncan Trussell will be moderating a talk entitled ‘The Art of Presence: Storytelling in VR’. Those unfamiliar with his podcast would do well by leaving the kids to meander elsewhere (unless you want their little minds completely blown).

VIP tickets are currently on sale for $50 (plus a $3.74 fee) which will grant you 11am early access to the demo floor, entry to the VIP panel at noon, and a SoCal VR t-shirt. General admission tickets are free of cost and only require a quick online registration. All tickets can be obtained by clicking the link below.
