It’s perhaps easy to forget that Project Morpheus, now known as PlayStation VR, would be ‘just another VR headset’ were it not for the vision and talent of Sony’s UK game developers and designers. It’s appropriate then that they’re now set to keynote at the UK’s VRTGO conference in Gateshead on November 12th.

The UK games industry has gone going from strength to strength and virtual reality has flourished alongside as a result. Leading the charge is Sony’s London Studios and Immersive Technology Group, responsible for much of the R&D and resulting tech demos you’ve witnessed since the platform’s launch at GDC 2014.

The team’s experimentation has seen a rapid maturation of VR experiences on the PlayStation VR experience, and despite the platform’s host being a ‘mere’ console, PSVR is host to some of the most innovative and enjoyable VR experiences out there right now.

At VRTGO, taking place in Gateshead UK on November 11th at the Baltic Arts Centre, Senior Games Designer at London Studios, will give a timely keynote charting PlayStation VR’s journey from early prototype to consumer ready device, all set to reach market in Q2 2016.

Sony join other speakers from the VR industry including CCP Games, nDreams, Pixel Ripped, PlayCanvas and Whispering Gibbon. Attendees will also get to try out VR experiences from: nDreams, CCP Games, Coatsink, VRgo, Chronicles VR, Two Big Ears, Spearhead Interactive, SLR and 360 Events.

Tickets for VRTGO are still available and you can get access to all of the above at a special 33% discount if you register before October 12th. To qualify for the discount, head here to register and enter code VRTGO33 to qualify.
