Hot on the heels of PSVR’s hit tactical shooter Firewall Zero Hour comes a new tactical VR shooter that’s inspired by Rainbow Six Siege (2015) and the Counter-Strike franchise. Dubbed Zero Killed, the Warsaw-based VR/AR studio Ignibit today announced the four vs. four team shooter is slated to release on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift September 26th, and that a PSVR version will soon follow.

Early VR Pioneer CCP Games Acquired by ‘Black Desert Online’ MMO Developer for $425M

CCP Games, an Icelandic game studio known for the long running EVE: Online MMO and their eager jump into and eventual backpedaling in the VR space, has been acquired by Korea-based developer Pearl Abyss, the studio behind the MMO Black Desert Online. The surprise acquisition, which cost Pearl Abyss $425 million, according to VentureBeat, combines two prominent MMO developers from two different sides of the globe.

robin-arnottSound Self developer Robin Arnott is starting a publishing label named Orpheus Technodelics to curate and distribute consciousness-hacking VR experiences. ‘Technodelics’, according to Arnott, are digital psychedelics that provide peak experiences aimed at opening someone’s mind to commit to deeper contemplative practices. He sees that spiritual traditions are steeped in level of tradition and seriousness that is a turn-off for a lot of people, and that he hopes to use the insights of game design in order to make transcendent experiences more readily available through virtual reality.
