6. Machine VR

Fractal fly-throughs can be boring – so Julius made this one extra long to make sure you would get super bored. That is unless you start to forget the world around you and let your imagination fill in the fractal void. Every nook and cranny will start to come alive – have a purpose. The deeper you go, the more intense this place will feel. You’ll be so immersed you won’t comprehend that this massive world exists almost entirely in your imagination – since the mathematical formula to create this world is so tiny we could text it to you.

4. Storm

You find yourself stuck outside of a small hut, in a severe snow storm. You can see a car, probably yours, stranded nearby, half covered in snow. As you look around for ways to get inside the house, your body gets colder, your limbs freeze up, and the storm intensifies. Your challenge is to find and combine several items lying around the building to gain entry.

Storm is a virtual reality experience that takes puzzle solving with a sense of urgency to a new level of realism. It manages to evoke primal instincts – survival. And it was designed to be as much a cinematic experience as a game.

This game is a very simple, first version. There are visual and gameplay improvements already in the works, and updates will be made in the near future.

Based in the UK, Paul has been immersed in interactive entertainment for the best part of 27 years and has followed advances in gaming with a passionate fervour. His obsession with graphical fidelity over the years has had him branded a ‘graphics whore’ (which he views as the highest compliment) more than once and he holds a particular candle for the dream of the ultimate immersive gaming experience. Having followed and been disappointed by the original VR explosion of the 90s, he then founded RiftVR.com to follow the new and exciting prospect of the rebirth of VR in products like the Oculus Rift. Paul joined forces with Ben to help build the new Road to VR in preparation for what he sees as VR’s coming of age over the next few years.
