Bigscreen announced it’s officially begun shipping the first production units of Beyond 2, the company’s latest slim and light PC VR headset.

Following a recent production delay, the company says in a blogpost that Beyond 2 headsets are now shipping, noting that due to a backlog of pre-orders, fulfillment will continue through August and beyond.

Bigscreen says that new orders placed today are expected to ship between August and September, with the goal of clearing the backlog by late September and transitioning to near-immediate fulfillment.

This includes both versions currently on sale—Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e—the later of which includes eye-tracking. Beyond 2 is priced at $1,019 and Beyond 2e at $1,219, both of which can be purchased direct from Bigscreen.

And Beyond 2 has proven to be pretty popular with pre-order customers. The company said during its March pre-order launch that its first 24 hours of sales outsold the original Beyond by “more than the first four months”.

Additionally, Bigscreen now says that more units were sold in the first 11 days than all Beyond 1 units sold in its first year. This has prompted the company to expand manufacturing at its Los Angeles factory, as well as hire new technicians and customer support staff. Bigscreen says it’s additionally deployed engineers to overseas suppliers to supervise production.

As for its other products, the company says that orders with the optional Custom-Fit Cushions placed through May 7th will ship by mid-August, while Halo Mount orders will begin shipping in late September or October due to manufacturing delays.

What’s more, customers who ordered a Beyond 1 and haven’t received a unit yet will automatically be upgraded to Beyond 2, putting them first in line for shipments, which is expected to complete by July 25th, Bigscreen says.

Notably, the company assured customers back in April that its latest PC VR headset wouldn’t increase in price due to tariffs, which have been levied by the US government on many goods manufactured in China.

will see about valves new hmd if it happens..
    im not holding my breath.
ive been in this game a long while and it seems VR is dying, first person shooters are shite in VR – only racing or flying is ok in VR all other games do not seem to work for VR.. Meta fill there stores with shat..

OLED > LCD all day long. Throw those quest 3's in the bin. I too had DK2 (and OG VIVE), still got CV1 (but use PSVR2 now on PS5 PRO and PC). I will never use LCD again…

however you're talking shit about VR and are wrong, HITMAN on PSVR2 is awesome and is a kind of 'first person shooter', YOUR problem is you're playing a ton of crap on Quest (and crap indies on PCVR) instead of playing decent stuff on PSVR2 like the RE's (with proper VR conversions) and Hitman.

Are you on crack or just throwing hate? EVERYTHING works in VR. The problem is that idiot studios do not test the VR builds. they assume that if it works in pancake, it must also work in VR. the opposite is true.

i cannot stand FPS that aren't in VR!

As some others on here pointed out they don't actually want the gaming market they want the mobile phone market. That's why you see Black middle aged females etc in all their marketing (or could just be corpo tick boxing). They are doing an Xbox One move and biting the hand that made them. Not sure why there is this deep hate for gamers in the corpo world. Even the game studios with purple haired CEO's that see gamers as "toxic".

Apart from this the PCVR Unreal VR mod is pretty cool (and other mods). And i just prefer to have my games in 3D with/out 6 DoF all the hand waving is gimmicky to me. I can sit with a controller and be very happy and immersed with the 3D 6 DoF. I can see why the Quest Xbox edition sold out.

Shooters on PCVR are some of the best things about VR. I don't know what you're playing or how you came to that conclusion. Also waiting on Valves HMD is a waste of time. Just seems you're a little bitter about the climate of VR right now and that is understandable.

Getting desperate for a new PCVR setup i will take anything with the baseline of Quest 3 in resolution, not heavy or outdated. So i looked at this when you include the stuff you have to buy from valve you're looking at around $2100+-

And it's annoying they don't do a "everything you need bundle". Also the wait time if you order right now for me is end of year.

My budget for PCVR headset is only $1600 anyway i just got the RTX 5090.

How do you get to $2100? I ordered everything I need for FAR less!

      Headset: $1019
      Halo strap: $180
I only use it for flight simulation, so I only need a single base station which I got off e-bay for $30.

      Total of $1229

I use the wireless headphones I already owned, which is far superior to any audio solution integrated into any VR headset.

Anyway, that's easily within your budget, even if you must add in prescription lenses.
