NVIDIA has announced a new program designed to alleviate confusion for consumers wanting to ensure their next PC or notebook computer is capable of running consumer VR applications when VR headsets hit the market this year.

Star Citizen, the massively crowd-funded space adventure game, committed to adding VR support back in 2012, before the now relatively ancient Rift DK1 had even begun to ship. The organisers of the Open Source Virtual Reality movement (OSVR) have today announced that their supporter list has grown to 300, with the recent addition of 70 new companies and groups interested in developing for Open Source VR.
