The virtual theater in Convrge, a VR social platform known for their characteristic low-poly style, is holding another communal livestream viewing, this time featuring the Oculus Connect 2 keynote adresses.

The keynote speeches will be delivered by CEO Brendan Iribe, Chief Scientist Michael Abrash, and CTO John Carmack, and will be kicking off this Thursday, Sept. 24th at 10:00 AM PDT (click for your local time).

Oculus says they’ll be revealing “everything developers need to know to launch on the Rift and Gear VR,” but knowing Carmack’s  unique brand of stream-of-thought style of speaking which often unloads megalithic amounts of information, we may be getting a lot more than that.

Convrge’s shared viewings have become big news after attracting more than 70 people in the social VR platform for Oculus’ pre-E3 ‘Step into the Rift´announcement last June.

Convrge developers Shawn Whiting and Hayden Lee will both physically be in attendance for the event (as they put it, “in meatspace”), but will also attend virtually through their laptops.

If you want to get in on the livestream, just download Convrge, plug in a mic, and pick one of the many avatars available. Don’t have a VR headset? No problem, because Convrge also works on traditional monitors, so anyone can join in and rub shoulders with fellow VR enthusiasts.

We have boots on the ground at Oculus Connect 2, and will be reporting on everything and anything regarding the upcoming Oculus Rift—set to launch in Q1 of 2016—as well as the consumer version of Gear VR. We expect news of the Gear VR-compatible phone to be revealed by Carmack, and much more, so stay tuned!
