The second installment of Star Wars: Vader Immortal is here, the narrative-based VR adventure that tosses you back into Darth Vader’s mysterious Imperial fortress situated on the lava planet Mustafar. Like the first episode, which we gave a respectable [8/10] in our review, the second is pretty short but also includes a “Lightsaber Dojo II” where you can use your newly acquired force powers to battle waves of enemies for hours of frenetic fun. This episode is however shorter than the first, although the new Lightsaber Dojo is a welcome addition that puts both your dueling abilities and force powers to good use.
Oculus finally revealed that Quest will get controllerless hand-tracking input. We got to test the feature at Oculus Connect 6 last week and came away impressed. Hand-tracking will open the door to a range of casual use-cases that will broaden the headset’s appeal, but core gaming experiences will still rely on the precision and reliability of controllers.

Here, he gave what he called a “eulogy for Gear VR,” as he detailed the failings, and some of the harder truths that both he and the company had to face in what turned out to be a less performant return on investment.
Today at Oculus Connect 6, CTO John Carmack dove into the work the company has done on Oculus Link, the Quest feature which will soon allow the headset to tether to PC to play Rift games. Announced yesterday, Oculus Link will allow Quest to play Rift games by connecting to any VR-capable PC. In our hands-on at Oculus Connect, the feature really does seem to deliver an experience that feels like a native PC VR headset.
There was a massive haul of announcements yesterday (believe us, just look at our front page), and while today’s keynote may not have any specific product reveals, where else can you watch legendary programmer and Oculus CTO John Carmack talk about VR until they pull his mic?
