As the biggest consumer electronics show looms large on the horizon, we look back on the most notable Oculus related VR events of 2015, what to look forward to in 2016 and what we’re likely to see from the company at CES.

Star Citizen, the massively crowd-funded space adventure game, committed to adding VR support back in 2012, before the now relatively ancient Rift DK1 had even begun to ship. Unfortunately the game’s VR support hasn’t seen much attention beyond some early efforts. In a recent update, developer Roberts Space Industries says they’ll be refocusing on VR early this year.
Almost none of the predictions I made during my 2014 year-end podcast were correct. Despite the fact that 2015 wasn’t the breakthrough year for VR that we wanted, I still felt the need to do a quick summary and make some final observations.
After revealing the Touch ‘Half Moon’ prototype earlier in 2015, Oculus has continued to hone the already impressively designed VR controller. Alongside an update stating that Touch would be shipped in the second half of 2016, the company also released a new photo of the latest design.

The organisers of the Open Source Virtual Reality movement (OSVR) have today announced that their supporter list has grown to 300, with the recent addition of 70 new companies and groups interested in developing for Open Source VR.
