‘Raw Data’ Gets New Trailer, Early-access Coming Soon to Vive

Raw Data is heading to the HTC Vive, launching soon as an Early-access title. A new trailer shows the game’s sci-fi action combat.

Created by developer Survios, one of the most senior VR-dedicated studios, Raw Data promises an interactive action experience that allows you to blast and slash your way through enemy androids with an array of weaponry. Features from the game’s Steam Store page detail some of the basics:

  • Active VR Gameplay: Utilize your body to pump shotguns, draw and fire explosive arrows, dual wield, hurl grenades, slash a katana, deflect projectiles, or even use your fists in close-quarters combat.
  • Immersive Action: Holster up and pull weapons off your body with physical loadout and check your stats on the in-game forearm display.
  • Adaptable Enemies: Get up close and personal with adaptable android enemies, including ninja stealthers, heavy armor units and flying drones.
  • Deployable Defenses: Hack into your munitions database to access weapon upgrades and deployable defense systems to amplify your shootout strategy.
  • Bullettime in VR: Dodge and deflect incoming projectiles in mind-bending slow motion.
  • Co-op Multiplayer: Team up with local co-op multiplayer—you’ll be grateful for the extra cover. And, because it’s important to us, we’re actively working toward online networked multiplayer.

A portion of the game is due to launch first as an Early-access title around the time the HTC Vive begins shipping. From there the developers have ambitious plans to expand from the survival-style gameplay seen in the trailer into a campaign-like adventure with networked co-op (Early-access multiplayer is local only for now).

The studio says they’re aiming to have the game graduate from Early-access to full title status in Q3 2016. Pricing and exact release date are not yet announced.

Off topic, but why isnt this on here (if its true lol)?:

“Considering HTC has teamed up with Valve, we can expect that Steam will
have greatest compatibility with the Vive and any games like Left 4
Dead, Portal or Half-Life 3 (confirmed) will hit Vive first and the Vive
has a camera on the front that lets you peak into the real world
    without removing the headset.”

Looks nice. I’m curious how the locomotion is handled. Edit: Ok nvrm. I’m guessing it will only feature “King of the Hill” co-op mode.
