The SoCal Virtual Reality Conference & Expo is pulling together the local Southern California VR community for a one day event that’s all about VR. The event is being held today (yes, today) at the University of California Irvine. The sold out event (save for our special batch of tickets above) is expected to attract nearly 1,000 attendees to the University’s Institute for Innovation.

In addition to a lineup of exhibitors and speakers, the event will host some exclusive VR demos like a homebrew VR electric chair that was developed at an Orange Country VR Meetup horror hackathon. Those with VIP tickets can track down “the man in the black cowboy hat” (our pal Matt Terndrup) for an exclusive sports-related VR experience.

Here’s a breakdown of the panels and presentations you can expect at the event:

Room 1: The Cove – 360 broadcast by VRLive.tv

Room 2: The ROC – recorded in 360 by Vrideo
