Firewall Zero Hour is an upcoming team-based, tactical multiplayer FPS for PlayStation VR from First Contact Entertainment, the makers of Rom: Extraction (2016). The game, which pits two teams of mercenaries against each other in objective-based attack/defend missions, is coming exclusively to PlayStation VR in 2018.

Revealed on stage at PlayStation Experience 2017, the multiplayer shooter features 4v4 matches using either the DualShock 4 controller or PS Aim. No mention was made of PS Move support. PlayStation Plus will be required for multiplayer.

In a PlayStation US blogpost, the studios says Firewall Zero Hour puts “heavy emphasis on organized, tactical firefights, team communication, and realistic pacing.”

Attackers are tasked with bypassing the firewall access points, locating the laptop, and hacking it. Defenders are tasked with making sure none of that happens (preferably with bullets).

The studio says there will be an “arsenal of modern weapons and offensive/defensive equipment to help their team and hinder the other.” At the end of the contracts/matches, players are rewarded with currency and experience points that can be used to upgrade contractors, weapons, equipment, load-outs and cosmetic items.

Looks good, I have to admit there’s some very cool looking PSVR games on the horizon

yes, I wish to read and article about which of those PSVR game are temporal exclusives and will eventually be relased in PC! Roadtovr may you write an article about it please?

      • Evgeni Zharsky

Even if these are temporary exclusives, I won’t be surprised if developers focus on PSVR first going forward. The much larger install base can’t be ignored. That’s where the money is.

They’re not being ignored. Games being developed for PS4 is a lot tighter as far as quality reassurance goes for their games unlike PC which is basically open platform. Sony picks and chooses what they’ll allow be put up in their stores. Plus devs are limited to the PSVR’s hardware. If anything, that’s your biggest problem. PSVR Gen 2 will be a lot more fulfilling.

I hope to see more crossplay support and some kind of way to link up with cross-platform friends.

      • PJ

Crossplay on VR should a given, there is no controller imbalance now, the m/k v gamepad excuse is redundant. I would like to see more VR games have there own friends list inside the game, similar to Rec Room, dosnt matter wether is MVR, Vive, Rift or PSVR you can join a friend effortlessly from inside the game.
There are a few FPS titles due out early next year that have crossplay with PSVR listed as a feature on steam. I can only list one off the top of my head though ‘Zero Killed’ looks pretty good, but I won’t be buying anymore VR multiplayer FPS games until a major dev brings one out a big title, with crossplay to keep the community alive, I have BAM, Pavlov and Onward, that’s enough

They should all pool funds and make an vr online service or add server lists to all vr games that support crossplay so we van find each other
