The newest experience heading to VR attraction The VOID is Avengers: Damage Control. Due to launch on October 18th, the experience will take players to iconic MCU locations and have them fight alongside the likes of Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, and the Wasp.
Vive Cosmos, HTC’s latest PC VR headset and replacement for the original Vive, launches today for $700. Just like all of company’s PC VR headsets to date, Cosmos will be able to use the Vive Wireless Adapter, but you’ll need a few things first that the company will soon be selling in a special Compatibility Pack.
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is an upcoming VR survival horror game that places you squarely in the show’s apocalyptic universe of zombies. While developing studios Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment lifted the veil on the game’s trailer today (see it here), the studios also published a nine-minute video on the game’s site that shows off some pretty intriguing pre-alpha gameplay footage—and it’s definitely giving off Fallout vibes.
IRIS VR launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign last month for LOW-FI, an atmospheric cyberpunk virtual reality game and so-called spiritual successor to TECHNOLUST (2016). The campaign is now over, having garnered $108,191 CAD (~$81,000 USD), a bulk of which came in the campaign’s first week.
HTC’s latest headset, Vive Cosmos, officially launches today. While we were looking forward to bringing you one of our signature deep-dive reviews, we discovered a potentially significant issue late in our testing, and don’t feel comfortable offering a verdict until we can determine if the problem lies with our particular review unit or the headset in general. French indie developer Olivier JT is finally getting ready to release his long-awaited musical sci-fi experience for VR headsets, Synthesis Universe.
Tyler Hurd is the creative genius that made me write that headline; it’s a sentence that never existed until now, and I thank him for letting me bring it into the universe. And while I really can’t think of any better way to describe what his studio Gentle Manhands has unleashed upon the PC VR headset-owning world, here it goes: Beach Body Bros (2019) is weird, fun, and a little homoerotic, but most of all it’s extremely Tyler Hurd.

The second installment of Star Wars: Vader Immortal is here, the narrative-based VR adventure that tosses you back into Darth Vader’s mysterious Imperial fortress situated on the lava planet Mustafar. Like the first episode, which we gave a respectable [8/10] in our review, the second is pretty short but also includes a “Lightsaber Dojo II” where you can use your newly acquired force powers to battle waves of enemies for hours of frenetic fun. This episode is however shorter than the first, although the new Lightsaber Dojo is a welcome addition that puts both your dueling abilities and force powers to good use.
Oculus finally revealed that Quest will get controllerless hand-tracking input. We got to test the feature at Oculus Connect 6 last week and came away impressed. Hand-tracking will open the door to a range of casual use-cases that will broaden the headset’s appeal, but core gaming experiences will still rely on the precision and reliability of controllers.
Oculus CTO and legendary programmer John Carmack took to Twitter recently to explain his reasoning behind why Rift S is still worth buying even though Oculus Quest will soon get the ability to play Rift games via Oculus Link.
Jaunt, the cinematic VR company that pivoted to AR last year, today announced it has sold its software, technology, and “certain other assets” to American telecom Verizon.
Asgard’s Wrath is launching exclusively on Rift October 10th, so you know exactly how much time you’ll need to either clear out space on your SSD, or buy a new one for what appears to be one of, if not the largest game by file size to land on the Oculus Store.
Announced at Oculus Connect 6 this week was a new title from Stress Level Zero, the studio behind Hover Junkers (2016) and Duck Season (2017). The game, which is said to arrive on Oculus Quest sometime next year, is slated to take place in the same universe as the studio’s upcoming physics-based adventure Boneworks.
