Ubisoft today announced a new VR arcade shooter called Space Junkies, billing it as a “jetpack-fueled arcade shooter developed exclusively for virtual reality gaming.”
At Ubisoft’s E3 2017 presentation, the company announced a cinematic-focused VR psychological thriller called Transference. Launching in Spring 2018, the title seeks to “bridge the gap between movies and games,” and is being developed in collaboration with Ubisoft Montreal and Elijah Wood’s content studio SpectreVision.

Following the announcements today that Lone Echo’s multiplayer mode will launch free for all Oculus Rift owners, developer Ready at Dawn has confirmed that the multiplayer mode has actually spun out into its own game, separate from Lone Echo.
Intel have announced a partnership with ESL and Oculus to launch an eSports league dedicated to VR gaming, featuring Oculus Rift titles The Unspoken and Lone Echo‘s multiplayer counterpart Echo Arena.
Starting off today’s E3 fun, Intel announced that not only will upcoming VR title Lone Echo have a free multiplayer mode for all Oculus Rift owners, but that Linkin Park is releasing a VR experience next month.
At the Intel E3 event this morning, Lone Echo developer Ready at Dawn announced that the anticipated Oculus Rift title is launching on July 20th. The studio has partnered with Intel to release the game’s ‘Echo Arena’ multiplayer mode to free for all Rift owners.
At Bethesda’s E3 briefing last night, the studio announced that Fallout 4 VR will be coming this year for the HTC Vive, but with AAA virtual reality PC content, comes prices to match.
Los Angeles-based VR studio Survios has continued to improve its ‘adrenaline platformer’ Sprint Vector since its reveal at GDC 2017 in March, adding weapons, powerups and new movement systems. Detailed in a press release at E3 2017, the game is set to launch for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and Touch by the end of the year.
Bethesda’s E3 keynote has seen a number of announcements including a new Fallout 4 VR trailer that gives the first public glimpse of VR gameplay in the Wasteland. The company has also revealed that the game will launch in October.
VR Live Pass, Samsung’s 360-degree video livestream partnership for Gear VR, continues in July with live coverage of the X Games Minneapolis. Samsung is offering unique access to live events this summer free for all Gear VR users, which began with the recent UFC 212 bout in Rio de Janeiro.
What was an earlier version of Doom for VR announced last year has evolved into a full title from Id Software, now titled Doom VRF. The game will be released for PlayStation VR and the HTC Vive.
Though the company initially proclaimed that the Xbox One X (formerly known as ‘Project Scorpio’) would feature VR support, at E3 this week Microsoft is distancing itself from that commitment. An official statement provided to Road to VR suggests that the Xbox One X won’t see any form of VR support as a launch feature, and perhaps for some time to come.
