Oculus has today confirmed all 53 launch titles that will be available on December 6th for the launch of the Touch controllers.

Among the 53 Oculus Touch titles, 22 have been seen previously on SteamVR, leaving 31 brand new Oculus Touch titles (including a few former Rift titles updated to include Touch). Those that pre-order Oculus Touch will nab and impressive lineup of eight free Touch games (non pre-order purchases will see six, missing out on The Unspoken and VR Sports Challenge). In addition to the 53 launch games, Oculus says 2017 will bring the likes of Giant Cop: Justice Above All, and the much anticipated Robo Recall (free to all Touch owners), Lone Echo, and Arktika.1.

I can’t help but think some of these 53 gems will get lost in the mix as Oculus owners will now be overwhelmed by all these selections. In an alternate universe The Touch launched 5 months ago with 10 launch titles and the other 43 came out gradually allowing owners to become more familiar with them over time and most likely permitting more sales and money into the pockets of the developers.

    * Personally I’m really anticipating Star Trek Bridge Crew VR which is still 3 1/2 months away.

Possibly some will, but I think the objective is not so much existing Rift users getting Touch, but creating the sense of a platform that new adopters will discriminate on and be drawn to for breadth and depth and for (the most part) a quality experience. I think we all would have liked to see Touch sooner, but I find it hard to complain about 53 games, 31 that are fully new. It’s an embarrassment of riches lol.

BTW I too am looking forward to Bridge Commander… I think multiplayer co-op games have a lot of potential.

really I don’t see the excitement here this is a weak line up u guys are being too easy on this list solely cause it’s vr. a lot of these games or old and the rest are just not exciting I would have prefer 20 all new games come on they have the climb and windland as touch launch games. you guys r get excited over someone elses hand me downs. Stop letting these dev get away with giving us crappy games or simply adding a figure to the game and re-launching it

      • Get Schwifty!

You do realize this is only the beginning…?

        • Mane Vr

u do realize I’m talking bout THIS LIST right…

Oculus has received tons of flak over the past year. (some of it well deserved re: launch fiasco) They will now reap the rewards of presenting solid VR hand presence + an incredible stable of games/experiences. It’s been a sometimes painful launch cycle, but for those who have waited to jump in to VR, the Rift system is now a mighty offering. Waiting to launch Touch may prove to be the best decision Oculus has ever made. Color me HYPED.

    • ummm…

i think you are right. but implicit in your opinion is that vive doesn’t have that. it does, in spades, and more robust and elegent IMO. Plus, vive is gonna get the touch controllers plus the added ability to have an open palm soon too.

However, im super happy you guys are getting these controllers and i hope we both benefit from universal roomscale capabilities through developer offerings.

  • Firestorm185

i SO cannot wait for this! Oculus just sent me an email saying my order’s been processed! Best birthday ever! XD

  • How many of these for the Vive?

    • Get Schwifty!

Eventually most if not all… the exclusives thing is way overstated, in time they will all be available on both platforms.

  • JohnRNicholson

If I buy The Climb (or any other game that I have) will I need to repurchase it when I get the Touch, or will they be freely updated? Thanks.

    • Get Schwifty!

I think I read somewhere that support is just a given, it’ll be a free update.

  • dextrovix

I understand that there is a component in the box with the Touch, that allows it to be mounted to a Guitar Hero controller. So where’s the announcement on the Guitar Hero VR title- not even slated for 2017 either!?

    • Get Schwifty!

According to the Best Buy Touch “What’s Included” description the Guitar Hero controller is included.

      • dextrovix

Yes, I realise that. But what I asked is where is the annoucement as to the release date of the title itself.

        • Get Schwifty!

Good question, one article said June….

      • Joey G

I don’t see anything about a Guitar Hero controller included. I only see the Rock Band Connector.

    • Joey G

Rock Band, not Guitar Hero. Not a lot of info out yet.

      • dextrovix

Oops, yes of course- getting my franchises mixed up! I figure Guitar Hero VR will be out at some point considering the mount is shipping with the controllers, but yeah distinct lack of info at the moment.
