Oculus Quest 2 is getting a big update starting today with the rollout of the v23 software which brings a heap of improvements to the headset, including the launch of the ‘Oculus Move’ fitness tracking feature. Many of the updates also benefit the original Quest.
A previous confirmation by the non-profit privacy and security organization XRSI surrounding a successful Quest 2 ‘jailbreak’—a means of freeing the device from Facebook account requirements and other software-based restrictions—has been put in doubt with a recent anonymous source discrediting the method as “fake”. XRSI has responded to the claim, saying they’re still in the vetting process.
STRIDE, the Mirror’s Edge-style parkour game for PC VR headsets, is slated to launch on the Oculus Store at some point, bringing along with it two entirely new modes to the game. After only a slight delay, those two new game modes are now available on Steam version.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, the next big Oculus Studios game, began production years before even the original Quest launched; as such the game has been built from the ground up for PC VR platforms. However, Oculus Studios and Respawn Entertainment say they plan to investigate the possibility of a Quest 2 port of Medal of Honor once the PC version is complete.
